Punakha Tshechu is held in the most majestic fortress in Bhutan at the
confluence of the Pho Chu and Mo Chu rivers. It’s held in late
February to early March. What makes Punakha Tshechu unique is that
the Punakha dromchoe were it is a re-enactment of Bhutan’s 17th
century victory over Tibetan invaders, with locals dressed as ancient
warriors riding on ponies and performing battle scenes.
